Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 July 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how PlayAussiePokie (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information you provide when you access or use the website playaussiepokie.com (the “Site”) and the free social games offered on it (the “Service”).
PlayAussiePokie is a free social entertainment platform. The Service uses virtual coins only; we do not accept payments, we do not offer real-money prizes, and no aspect of the Service constitutes gambling under the laws of Australia or any other jurisdiction. By using the Site you agree to the practices described below.
1. Who We Are
PlayAussiePokie operates this Site as a free-to-play social entertainment service. We can be reached at info@playaussiepokie.com for any privacy enquiries, data-subject requests, consent withdrawals, opt-out requests, or complaints.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Contact form data — name, email address, message contents when you write to us via the contact form.
- Account data — if you create a user account, your chosen username, email address, and any optional profile details.
- Age confirmation — a single record (cookie) indicating you have confirmed you are 18 years of age or older. This record is stored locally in your browser; it does not contain your date of birth.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Technical data — IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen resolution, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see our Cookie Policy for details on cookie categories and your choices.
We do not collect health data, financial-account data, government identifiers, biometric data, or any data classified as sensitive under Article 9 of the EU/UK GDPR.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above only for the following purposes:
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Site and the Service;
- To respond to enquiries, support requests, and complaints;
- To verify that visitors meet the minimum age of 18 years;
- To monitor and analyse general usage trends in aggregated, non-identifying form;
- To detect, prevent, and investigate abuse, fraud, or unauthorised access;
- To comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests from public authorities.
4. Legal Bases (UK / EU GDPR users)
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to your data, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Consent — for non-essential cookies, analytics, and advertising measurement. You can give and withdraw this consent at any time (see Section 9).
- Legitimate interests — for operating, securing, and improving the Service.
- Legal obligation — where we are required by law to retain or disclose information.
5. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioural advertising except with your consent. We share information only with:
- Service providers who host the Site, deliver content via CDN (Cloudflare), or process analytics data, strictly under written agreements that limit their use of the data to providing services to us;
- Law enforcement or public authorities where required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, or property;
- Advertising partners (including Microsoft Advertising) for measurement and conversion tracking, only after you have consented via the cookie banner. We do not share contact-form contents or account data with advertising partners. You can withdraw this consent or opt out at any time (see Section 9).
6. International Transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries outside Australia, the United Kingdom, or the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy decisions, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. Contact-form data is retained for up to 24 months. Aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely in a form that does not identify any individual.
8. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Request deletion of your data;
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect prior lawful processing);
- Opt out of personalised advertising and of the use or disclosure of your personal information for direct marketing;
- Receive your data in a portable format;
- Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority — in Australia this is the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au); in the UK the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk); in the EU your national data-protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, please email info@playaussiepokie.com. We will respond within one month. We do not charge a fee for exercising your rights, and we will not discriminate against you for doing so.
9. Your Privacy Choices: Consent, Personalised Ads, and Opt-Out
This section explains, in practical steps, how you control the collection and use of your information — how to give consent where it is required, how to withdraw that consent, and how to exercise your opt-out rights.
9.1 Giving your consent (where consent is required)
Where the law requires your consent before we set non-essential cookies or process your data for analytics or advertising, we ask for it through the cookie-consent banner shown when you first visit the Site. You may give consent by choosing “Accept All”, or grant it selectively by choosing “Customise” and enabling only the categories you agree to. We do not set non-essential, analytics, or advertising cookies until you have given consent. Strictly necessary cookies (for example, security and age-confirmation cookies) do not require consent because the Site cannot function without them.
9.2 Withdrawing your consent
You can withdraw your consent at any time, and just as easily as you gave it:
- On the Site — click the “Manage cookies” / consent-preferences icon at the bottom-left of any page, then switch off any category (Functional, Analytics, Advertising) and save. Your new choice takes effect immediately.
- In your browser — delete stored cookies through your browser settings; this clears any consent previously recorded.
- By email — to withdraw any other consent (for example, consent to receive email updates), write to info@playaussiepokie.com.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdrew it.
9.3 Opting out of personalised (interest-based) advertising
Where you have an opt-out right rather than a consent right, you can exercise it through any of the following, in addition to rejecting advertising cookies in our banner:
- Microsoft Advertising — opt out of personalised ads and of the sharing/sale of your data for personalised ads at about.ads.microsoft.com/resources/policies/personalized-ads.
- Your Ad Choices (Australia) — manage interest-based advertising from participating companies at youradchoices.com.au.
- Your Online Choices (EU/UK) — youronlinechoices.com.
- Digital Advertising Alliance (US) — optout.aboutads.info.
- Browser signals — we honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid opt-out of the sharing of personal information for personalised advertising. You can enable GPC (or “Do Not Track”) in supported browsers and extensions.
An advertising opt-out is stored as a cookie on the device where you set it, so you will need to opt out again on each browser or device you use, or if you clear your cookies.
9.4 Opting out of direct marketing
If we ever send you promotional email, every message includes an unsubscribe link, and you may opt out at any time by clicking it or by emailing info@playaussiepokie.com. Under Australian Privacy Principle 7, you may ask us not to use or disclose your personal information for direct marketing, and we will honour that request.
9.5 Australian users
If you are in Australia, the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles apply to us. You have the right to access and correct your personal information and to opt out of direct marketing as described above. If you are not satisfied with our handling of a request, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
9.6 How we handle your request
We action consent-withdrawal and opt-out requests without undue delay and at no cost to you. We will not treat you differently, or degrade the Service, because you exercised a privacy choice.
10. Children
The Service is strictly intended for adults aged 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it without delay.
11. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures including HTTPS encryption, access controls, and regular security reviews to protect personal data. No internet transmission is ever fully secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we strive to apply current best practice.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on the Site.
13. Contact
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or our handling of your personal data, please contact us at info@playaussiepokie.com.
